DEPARTMENT: Technology
REPORTS TO: Support Team Manager
OVERVIEW: Work with IT team to support, troubleshoot and perform administration for end-user systems.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Trading floor pertaining to requests and issues in a timely manner.
Support Users with day to day request and issues in a timely manner.
Responsible for resolving end-user requests, and work with support and engineering team on security and workstation upgrades.
Document applications and procedures to maintain the support run-book documentation.
Administration and problem resolution of workstation hardware and OS issues.
Must be available to work weekends on occasion and be available for after-hour issues.
Responsible for Windows Active Directory and UNIX/Linux systems user administration
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Direct interaction with the Support Team Manager and IT Infrastructure team
Direct interaction with users and department managers.
Create relationships with Outside vendors and value added resellers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1-3 years of IT support experience.
Bachelor`s degree in (Computer Science or Engineering a plus)or higher .
Extensive knowledge of workstation and server hardware.
In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems, Windows software installation and troubleshooting techniques.
Good understanding of Blackberry hardware and server software, and other mobile devices.
Must have excellent oral and written skills, including the ability to interact with team members, venders and management.
Must have basic knowledge of TCP/IP and routing.
Must have basic knowledge of *NIX system.
Understanding of Microsoft Remote Installation Server setup and configuration.
Candidate should be passionate about technology.
Detail oriented nature.
Strong sense of ownership and pride in the work.
Able to balance multiple projects.
Knowledge of Microsoft application packaging and usage of Group Policy Objects.
Ability to troubleshoot Application issues and workstation performance.
Additional experience with one or more of the following is also desired
Scripting languages(Bash, Perl etc)
